This year’s Hertford District Cub Scout ‘Johnstone Cup’ Competition will be held with the entry being made in advance as a Pack or Cub representing the Pack and then the finished article being brought along on the judging morning. This year the entry is for a model using any craft materials, e.g., card, fabric, sequins, clay, plasticine, pom poms, pipe cleaners, crayons, paints, boxes, yogurt pots etc. The theme is a Christmas Scene which can be an inside or outside scene. NO pre-printed or brought ready-made items like, figures, trees, house, cars etc All work to be handmade only by the Cubs (adults may only supervise) and the model mounted on stiff card, cork tiles or wood up no larger than a 6’ table Pack names or clues should not be visible on the front of any entry; you will be given a number. Judging will take place on Sunday 3rd November 2024 at 2nd Bengeo Scout HQ. Entries need to be delivered between 10.15am – 10.45am for judging at 11am. Talk to your Cub leader. |

Green Beret Fri 15th (7:00pm) to Sun 17th Nov (1:00pm) Where: Tolmers Scouts Camp, Cuffley
The Green Beret Challenge is a competition for teams of up to six Scouts. To achieve the Green Beret Challenge, teams compete in four elements: * Orienteering * An Assault Course * Challenge Incidents (Daytime) * Night Exercise The challenge will test a group of Scouts through a range of physical and intellectual activities. It also proves to be a significant challenge to leadership and teamwork skills. IT'S TOUGH!! However, you can survive, provided you are prepared for the weather. The Challenge is held in November, cold and wet weather is normal for the time of year, this only adds to the Challenge of Green Beret. Interested in taking part … Talk to your Scout leader! |

Hertford Scouts would like to invite you, Rainbows, Beavers, Cubs, Brownies, Guides, Scouts, Rangers, Explorers, Young Leaders, Leaders, Scout Active Support Members, Parents and Public to join us in celebrating St George’s Day, the patron Saint of Scouting.
This year’s celebration will be taking place with the usual parade through Hertford followed by a celebration event. Young People, Leaders, parents, friends and everybody interested are welcome to join us at the celebration event, being part of our local community to which Hertford Scouts and Guides belong. Find your section leader on the path by the skate park on Hartham Common at 1:00pm ready to depart at 1:20pm.

ITTH - Introduction to the Hills Fri 2nd (12:00pm) to Mon 5th May 2025 (12:00pm) Where: Foundry Adventure centre, Peak District
Taking place in the Peak District, this jam packed popular camping weekend full of fun and adventure includes caving, outdoor climbing, cycling and hill walking for Guides and Scouts aged 11-13 years. Spaces will go fast, so don’t delay. Due to this event being extremely popular priority is given to first time attendees.
